A total €12,099 were spent on six air tickets for the Prime Minister’s wife during this legislature, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said today.

He told Parliament in reply to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Marthese Portelli that Mrs Muscat formed part of six delegations - the installation of Pope Francis and an audience with him, the United Nations general assemblies in Toronto and New York, including visits to the Maltese communities there, and official visits to Israel and Palestine, and China.

In five of the six visits, the Muscats were also accompanied by their children, for whom they paid personally.
