Ivan Fenech is probably one of my favourite local columnists, but on this one occasion I might have to disagree with him justa little.

In his write-up ‘Ghost of Lorry Sant’ Fenech speaks against the building of hotels on that stretch of rugged rocks from Smart City to Marsascala.

Personally I find the area particularly unattractive as itis, even for a swim, and therefore I believe that such aninvestment would be putting the place to good use for our country’s economy.

I find it rather unfair of Fenech to insinuate that folk inthe “south” should not have the same aspirations as those inthe “north”, unless theywant to work in the “north”once “qualified”.

Fenech seems to suggest that folk in the “south” should remain but fishermen.

Well then again, fishermen need the sea, and the subject at hand is about building on land, not sea.
