Genoa missed the chance to move up to fourth in the Serie A standings when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Palermo last night.
Paulo Dybala put the Sicilians in front in the seventh minute when he curled his shot beyond the reach of Mattia Perin into the far corner for his fifth goal of the season.
But Genoa managed to draw level on the half hour when Enzo Maresca was dispossessed by Bertolacci who hit a shot that took a telling deflection off the heal of Luca Antonelli to curl inside Stefano Sorrentino’s near post.
Both sides had excellent chances to win it, but the best was wasted by the hosts, who nevertheless remained fifth, a point behind city rivals Sampdoria.
