Various equities closed in positive territory today, lifting the MSE Share Index 0.3% higher to 3,295.343 points.

Most notably, the share price of Bank of Valletta plc gained 0.4% to the €2.249 level across 23,846 shares. Lower volumes were registered in HSBC Bank Malta plc as the banking equity edged 1.1% higher to recapture the €1.92 level on just 1,112 shares.

The share price of Malta International Airport plc advanced by 1.3% to regain its all-time high of €2.40 albeit on very low volumes of 500 shares. MIA recently confirmed in its Interim Directors’ Statement that the financial performance this year will exceed the record profits of last year and be above expectations.

Similarly, demand for Medserv plc emerged following last week’s positive Interim Directors’ Statement which revealed that, given the level of activity in Malta and Cyprus, the Group is expected to reach its €2.2 million pre-tax profit forecast and is expected to maintain the present momentum during 2015. The equity of Medserv moved 1.5% higher to reach the €1.37 level for the first time since 30 September 2013 on high volumes of 83,734 shares.

The only other positive performing equity was Middlesea Insurance plc as its share price ended the session minimally higher at €0.994 after recovering from an intra-day low of €0.90 across six deals totalling 10,324 shares.

On the other hand, the share price of GO plc shed 1.7% back to the €2.55 level on volumes of 1,500 shares.

Meanwhile, 6pm Holdings plc held on to the GBP0.70 across two deals totalling 120,530 shares. Similarly, RS2 Software plc maintained the €2.93 level albeit on significantly lower volumes of 400 shares.

Likewise, no change was registered in the share price of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc at the €3.02 level on low volumes of 2,722 shares.

On the bond market, the Rizzo Farrugia MGS Index edged 0.1% higher to 1,092.532 points in spite of a rebound in Eurozone yields to 0.786% following the publication of data in the region which showed that the business morale in Germany increased during the month of November – the first monthly increase following declines in the past six months.
