Cisk is once again joining the Movember campaign, extending its support by offering educational tours, sharing medical advice and offering subsidised medical tests to generate awareness and encourage important health checks.

Movember is an international campaign originating in Australia, where men grow moustaches throughout the month of November to raise awareness about health, namely testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental illness.

The moustaches are intended to spark conversations about the importance of keeping healthy, spotting changes and being courageous enough to speak up when something is wrong. Participants can also raise funds for cancer charities but the main priority is to get people talking about this sensitive topic in a more lighthearted way than usual.

As part of this year’s campaign, Cisk has procured the services of a specialist doctor who is visiting various locations in a specially branded Cisk Movember van. During these educational tours, the doctor is delivering a presentation to men and their families about testicular cancer, focusing on explaining what the disease is, how men can check themselves, what to do in case of suspicion and what the treatment is in case of diagnosis.

Participants are being given an educational leaflet with a voucher entitling them to a medical test at St James Hospital at a reduced price.
