A seminar on food safety issues and healthy and sustainable lifestyles, entitled ‘A new food culture: Towards Expo Milano 2015’, was held at the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta.

Organised by the Italian embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Italian and Maltese health ministries, the seminar gave representatives from both countries, experts and nutritionists the possibility to debate the subject.

The event was inaugurated by Tonio Borg, former European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy.

John Mamo, Commissioner General of Malta for Milan Expo, made the closing remarks.

The Milan Expo, themed ‘Feeding the planet, energy for life’, will run from May 1 to October 31, 2015.
