The next music appreciation evening organised by the German-Maltese Circle’s Classical Music Group will be held on Wednesday at 6.30pm at the Circle’s premises, Messina Palace, 141, St Christopher Street, Valletta.

The evening, presented by Aldo Fenech, will be dedicated to orchestral works from operas by Giacomo Meyerbeer, whose 150th death anniversary falls this year.

Meyerbeer was particularly known for his large-scale operas, including Les Huguenots, Le Prophete, Robert le Diable and L’Africaine.

He has been described as perhaps the most successful stage composer of the 19th century.

Entrance is free and all music lovers are invited to attend. Those who wish to be included in the group’s mailing list should inform any member of the committee.
