The next round of races from the ASMK Pasta Poiatti Trials Championship will be staged at the Tal-Ballut Quarry, limits of San Pawl tat-Tarġa, on Sunday.

The race briefing commences at 9am. Spectators can access the site from the bottom of t’Alla w’Ommu hill.

The Trials championship classification, after the first series was held in Naxxar earlier this season, sees Damon Bonello, on Gas Gas, leading the charge with 20 points in Class A.

Bonello is followed by Gary Debono, on a Sherco, on 17 points and Robert Caruana (Gas Gas) on 15.

Joseph Scicluna tops Class B on a Gas Gas motorcycle with 20 points. Bernard Sammut (Beta, 17 points) is second ahead of Manuel Camilleri (Gas Gas, 15 points).

Meanwhile, preparations for the 2015 FIM Europe annual general conference, to be held in Malta next July, have been stepped up this week.

The ASMK won the right to host the assembly after extensive discussions led by organisation president Frans Deguara and Johann Pace, the secretary general.

The conference will be attended by FIM-Europe delegates from 47 countries, including top officials from the World Motorcycling Federation, FIM.

In Malta, they will be analysing new proposals and give their approval to initiatives taken by FIM-E management.

Senior FIM officials Alessandro Sambuco and Michal Sikora recently inspected the proposed venue for the conference and a hotel in St Julian’s that will host the foreign guests.

Final preparations will be discussed during another visit by FIM-E officials scheduled for March.
