Dortmund: Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus could make his Bundesliga return against Paderborn tomorrow after suffering an ankle injury earlier this month, coach Juergen Klopp said. “For Marco it is looking problem-free,” Klopp said of the Germany international. Central defender Mats Hummels, recovering from an ankle injury sustained at the start of the month, is not quite ready to return. “It is not progressing as quickly as we would have liked,” Klopp said.

Phelan: Norwich City have announced former Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan as their new first-team coach. The 52-year-old made 194 appearances for the Canaries, scoring 10 goals, between 1985-1989, helping the club win the Second Division title in 1986 and also captaining the team in the top flight. He also worked as a coach with Gary Megson in 1995 and was voted into Norwich’s Hall of Fame in 2002.

Wigan: One of Wigan’s shirt sponsors has severed ties with the club following the appointment of Malky Mackay as manager. Mackay was confirmed as the club’s new boss on Wednesday despite an ongoing FA investigation into racist, sexist and homophobic text messages he sent during his time as Cardiff manager. The move has caused controversy and kitchen firm Premier Range, who sponsors the back of Latics’ shirts, has now said it is ending its association with the club because it feels its position is “untenable”.

Minute’s applause: Aston Villa will hold a minute’s applause to remember the victims of the Birmingham pub bombings. They have worked with the Justice 4 The 21 campaign and a roll call of victims’ names will also be displayed on the big screens at Villa Park in Monday’s game with Southampton. Twenty-one people died when bombs exploded in two central Birmingham pubs, the Tavern in the Town and the Mulberry Bush, 40 years ago today.
