BUHAGIAR. On November 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, née Agius, widow of Anthony, aged 87, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Carmen, Mario and Paul and their respective spouses and her beloved grandchildren Dawn and her fiancé Antoine, Anne and Joseph, her sisters Catherine, Carmen and Mary Lou, her sisters-in-law Sr Euphemia of the Augustinian Sisters, Yvonne, Rita and Tessie, together with cousins and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addo­lorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA MANISCALCO. On November 19, JOSEPHINE, of Birkirkara, aged 81, at Saint Vincent de Paul Residence, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nieces, MaryRose and her husband John Mifsud, Margaret and her husband Raymond Grech and Monica widow of Joe Aquilina, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Saint Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow Friday at 8.45am for Saint Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.15am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant her eternal life.

ZAMMIT. On November 19, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, JOHN FELIX, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Marija, née Zammit, his daughters Simone and her partner Ronnie Galea, and Audrey married to Stephanie Boyd-Trevisan, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Rehabilitation Centre on Saturday, November 22 at 7.30am for St Anthony of Padua church, Għajn Dwieli, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Institute, Żabbar, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Heritage lectures

Simonds Farsons Cisk and The Farsons Foundation, in collaboration with Heritage Malta and the University of Malta, are holding a series of lectures focusng on specific themes of indus­trial heritage.

The first lecture will be delivered by Ian Ritchie, whose practice has received more than 60 national and international awards, on Monday at 6.30pm at The Brewery, Mrieħel.

Flimkien Għal Ambjent Aħjar is organising a talk about a church and monastery which had been specially created to accommodate the Knights' cast-off mistresses.
