BUHAGIAR. On November 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, née Agius, widow of Anthony, aged 87, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Carmen, Mario and Paul and their respective spouses and her beloved grandchildren Dawn and her fiancé Antoine, Anne and Joseph, her sisters Catherine, Carmen and Mary Lou, her sisters-in-law Sr Euphemia of the Augustinian Sisters, Yvonne, Rita and Tessie, together with cousins and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church in Gżira, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BUSUTTIL. On November 17, FELIX, of Żabbar, aged 73, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Charles and his wife Marthese, his daughter Nadia and her husband Joseph, his grandchildren Luigi, Gianluca and Jan, his brother and sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3pm for Żabbar parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Żabbar cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Food culture seminar

The Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta will be hosting a seminar entitled ‘A new food culture – towards Expo Milan 2015’ today at 9am at the institute itself.

The seminar will feature a discussion on food safety issues and healthy and sustain­able lifestyles.

Organised by the Italian embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Italian Health Ministry and the Ministry of Energy and Health, the seminar will give Italian and Maltese representatives, experts and nutritionists the possibility to debatethe subject.

The event will be inaugurated by former European Health and Consumer Policy Commissioner Tonio Borg.

John Mamo, commissioner general for the Milan Expo, will present the closing remarks.

Heritage lectures

Simonds Farsons Cisk and The Farsons Foundation, in colla­boration with Heritage Malta and the University of Malta, are holding a series of lectures focusing on specific themes of industrial heritage.

The first lecture will be delivered by Ian Ritchie, whose practice has received more than 60 national and international awards, on Monday at 6.30pm at The Brewery, Mrieħel.
