The EPP’s Political Assembly has unanimously approved the party’s plans to hold an extraordinary convention of the EPP in Malta in 2017.

The head of the PN delegation in the European Parliament, David Casa said Malta was chosen after tough negotiations spearheaded by PN leader Simon Busuttil.

The Nationalist Party was represented at the assembly by International Secretary Trevor De Giorgio. He said this would be an opportunity for the PN to   host some of the most influential heads of government in the European Union. It was also a mark of respect for Dr  Busuttil.

Extraordinary Conventions focus on particular themes and give members of the EPP the opportunity to understand issues that are of relevance to the host country.

Casa thanked MEPs Roberta Metsola and Therese Comodini Cachia for their support and contribution to the bidding process.
