There were 3,063 applications for a Schengen area vist from Chinese citizens between March last year and the end of last month, Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia said today.

Replying to a Parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi, Dr Mallia said the applications were submitted at Malta’s embassy in China.

A total 2,400 were approved and in 52 cases advice was given for the visa not to be issued.
