The Occupational Health and Safety Authority has filed a counter protest in court denying claims made in a judicial protest filed last week by Emanuel Ronayne.

Mr Ronayne was injured when a structure collapsed onto the stage during preparations for the rock opera Gensna at the MFCC in March.

In his protest, he claimed that when he asked the OHSA about the progress of the investigations into the matter and what action would be taken, he was informed that the authority never investigated the matter and, therefore, no action would be taken.

In so doing, he said, the authority was failing to carry out its duties as laid down by law and was not taking action to avoid other such accidents.

He called on the authority to carry out the investigations and held it liable in damages.
