The Nationalist Party today again called on Equal Opportunities Minister Helena Dalli to shoulder political responsibility for illegal works at a farmhouse she owned in ODZ land and for “lying to the people”.

The Żejtun farmhouse was slapped with an enforcement notice in 2011, because of infringements on the site. However, Times of Malta revealed last Thursday that works on the property were continuing.

In another story on Sunday, the newspaper said the minister failed to list the farmhouse in her declaration of assets.

Spokesmen Ryan Callus and Charlo Bonnici said Dr Dalli lied when she said she did not know about the works as the machinery being used belonged to her company PADA Builders.

Asked whether Dr Dalli should have listed the farmhouse in her declaration of assets even if it is owned by her company, Mr Callus said the property should have been listed under the property section and it was 'deceitful' that it was not.

The spokesmen also accused Prime Minister Joseph Muscat of remaining silent about such a grievous matter.
