The first in a series of concerts inside the previously-closed Oratory of the Annunciation, annexed to the Jesuits church, in Valletta was held yesterday when the String Quartet of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra executed Beethoven works alongside a new composition by Christopher Muscat.

The idea behind the initiative is to open the oratory to the public, offer space for any type of cultural and enriching event, add a new performing space in the capital, attract more people to the city on Sunday afternoons and to raise funds for cancer research.
