The scheme where first time property buyers had a portion of their stamp duty waived is being extended by six months, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said in the Budget speech.

The scheme was introduced last year and was meant to end in December. It will now be extended to promise of sale agreements and final contracts concluded by the end of June.

First time property buyers can save up to €5,000 on a property of €150,000.
