The first investiture ceremony of the Mġarr Baden Powell Sea Scouts was attended by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. She was welcomed by Baden Powell Scouts Malta president and international commissioner George Mangion and group scout master Victoria Galea Mangion.

Mass was celebrated by Fr Anton Briffa, the Church’s delegate to scouting, who outlined the history of scouting, started by Lord Baden Powell, and its links to the Catholic Church. He also spoke about the scouting law and its relevance to everyday life.

Leaders from the Mtarfa, Baħrija and Qormi Baden Powell scout groups also participated.

Briffa blessed the colours, after which an investiture ceremony was held on the church parvis, followed by a reception at the parish hall.
