Q: I have a €400 voucher that expired more than a month ago. On the voucher, there is a clause which states that once the voucher expires it can no longer be redeemed. Is such a clause legal?

At the time the voucher expired, I got married so I had a lot of things going on and forgot about it. Is there anything I can do so that I do not lose €400?

A: Since the voucher you won had an expiry date written on it, it was your responsibility to use it before it expired.

Now that the voucher has expired, you no longer have the legal right to redeem it.

At this point your only possible solution is to reach an amicable understanding with the trader.
