Music meets art in The Oratory – Music and Art, a new Sunday teatime concert series, as Research Trust of University of Malta (RIDT) ramps up efforts to enhance community participation in research contributions.
The series are taking place in the unique baroque ambience of the Oratory of the Jesuits church, Valletta, every other Sunday at 4.30pm and features mainly classical, baroque and chamber music. The first concert in the series takes place this Sunday.
Proceeds from the concerts are aimed at raising funds for various research activities within the University, via RIDT.
The entrance for the concerts will be against a recommended donation of €10.
The opening performance features the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s String Quartet who will be performing Christopher Muscat’s Clepsydra and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 4 Op18.
The MPO String Quartet is made up of Marcelline Agius and Klara Nazaj on the violin, Nadia Debono on viola and Akos Kertesz on cello.
