Six nursehound shark pups that hatched at the Malta National Aquarium were yesterday released into the sea at Ċirkewwa.

This brought the number of sharks successfully released into the wild to 17.

The shark recovery and release programme is run by Sharklab-Malta and supported by the aquarium.

It was one of the events organised this weekend together with Project Aware and World Record Diving Malta to raise awareness about shark finning.
