International fashion brand Karen Millen has opened its first store in Malta, showcasing its autumn/winter 2014 collection.

Though the brand is born and bred in England, it is known globally for its distinctive fashion for women. With stores in over 66 countries across six continents, including flagship stores in New York and London and concessions at Selfridges, Bloomingdale’s, Galeries Lafayette and El Corte Ingles, Karen Millen’s new collection is an evocative snapshot of the energy and dynamism of the location surrounding its Shoreditch atelier in London’s East End.

The collection sets the tone for the next season with delicate lace, leather and fur and combines rich darks with bright colour pops.

The limited-edition embroideries are crafted from up to 1.3 million stitches and can take up to 24 hours to create

Under the direction of its CCO Gemma Metheringham, the brand has evolved to offer beautifully crafted investment pieces with a high-low mix of perfectly cut trend-led pieces and seasonal wardrobe staples including its iconic biker jacket.

Each piece of the collection is individually designed, hand-crafted and perfected in the brand’s in-house studio to deliver signature quality and attention to detail. The limited-edition embroideries are crafted from up to 1.3 million stitches and can take up to 24 hours to create.

From couture-inspired techniques to luxurious heritage fabrics, every Karen Millen garment has a story to tell. This season, the design team have created a perfectly curated capsule wardrobe, showcasing clean lines and precision tailoring, power prints and urban basics.

In line with the brand’s signature for a pared-back, modern aesthetic style, the collection empowers and inspires women to define and refine their unique personal style.

The collection may be seen at the store in Old Theatre Street, Valletta.
