We are two tourists from Scotland on our third stay of the year. With each passing visit, we are struck by the deplorable state of toilet facilities on the Islets Promenade in Buġibba.

Caked, dirty toilet, no soap, no hot water and no toilet paper are the norm there.

No locks on doors and taps that are falling off sinks are, likewise, permanent features.

Malta relies heavily on tourism income: the tourism authorities have long opined that it takes just one bad element of the core pieces of a holiday package to spoil the rest and to put off repeat business.

All relevant departments should strive to collaborate to fix this problem before it is too late.
