Way back, in July 1993, we saw the birth of a new section within Our Lady of the Lily Musical Society of Mqabba, with the aim of helping out in the organisation of the feast of Our Lady of the Lily celebrated annually in June.

This, however, came about with a difference because Our Lady of the Lily Youth Section has very well integrated itself into the socio-cultural life of the village by means of a wide range of activities and other initiatives organised on a regular basis.

A comedy entitled Karmna Abdilla wara t-Tieġ, by Charles Clews, was the most recent event, held on November 1 at the Mqabba Primary School Hall.

A big well done goes to the cast of more than 50 persons. A fact worth mentioning is that Our Lady of the Lily Youth Section incorporates the Golden Lilies Drama Company, founded way back in the 1960s, with a number of successes on a national basis.

The committee would like to thank all those who helped in the organisation of this event, from the stage constructors to the actors and make-up artist. Without their valuable help, this event would never have been such a great success.

A special thank you goes to the wonderful audience packing the hall and, last but not least, the headmistress and staff of Mqabba primary school for their kind collaboration.
