FARRUGIA. On November 3, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, JOSEPH, widower of Martha, formerly of Żebbuġ, residing in Swieqi, aged 74, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Carmen and her husband Noel, and Lily and her husband Manuel, his grandchildren Kurt and his girlfriend Martina, Chantal, Anthea and Martina, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Tal-Ibraġ, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at San Andrea Cemetery, Żebbuġ. FONDE. It is with great sorrow that the Salesian Community in Malta announces the passing of Fr JOSEPH FONDE, aged 87. Known as a holy man of God, always dedicated to his pastoral ministry, he will be greatly missed by many, especially the Salesian Community, by his brothers Victor and John, their wives Louise and Emma, by his nephews and nieces Maria, Dominic, Marisa, Margaret and Richard. Fr Fonde was loved also by the many elderly persons he used to visit and comfort. The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow. The cortège leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre at 8am for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where the concelebrated Mass will start at 8.45am. After Mass the remains will be accompanied to the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery by the Salesian Fathers and family for interment in the Salesian Community’s grave. The Salesian Fathers are grateful to the staff at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, Ward 2, for all the care shown to Fr Fonde. Although flowers would be appreciated, it was Fr Fonde’s wish that instead donations be given for the boys at St Patrick’s School, Sliema. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, may he rest in peace.

ZARB. On November 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, NADYA, née Attard Bezzina, aged 58, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband John, her son Martin and his partner Claire, her son Michael and his wife Becky, and her grand-daughters Emma and Amy. She also leaves to mourn her loss her brother Charles andhis wife Marion, her brother Hadrian and his wife Valerie, as well as her in-laws Antoin-ette, Mariella and Anand, Doris and Tonio, Nadya and Andre, Candida and Anton and Nicky, together with her nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for the church of Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
