Company donations of €2,000 or more to the Malta Community Chest Fund are going to be tax deductible, President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said today.

The measure, to be introduced in the next budget, was announced now to give companies time to plan.

In a statement, Nationalist Party spokeswoman Claudette Buttigieg welcomed the initiative but said all non-governmental organisations and institutions that depended on benefactors should benefit and not just one organisation.
