One of Caremalta’s most cherished core values is quality, which equates dignity, comfort and satisfaction for the residents that Caremalta cares for. With over 1,200 older persons residing under its care and housed in one of the eight residences it operates, Caremalta has made it its mission to continuously evaluate the service quality offered to its residents.

Central to this mission is a sound regulatory structure within which homes are managed and services provided. The structure comprises standard operating procedures covering a number of areas as well as an internal auditing system aimed at keeping the standards at the highest level possible all the time and in allits facilities.

In its efforts to further maintain and improve the standards in its operations, Caremalta has appointed Paul Pace as group quality assurance manager. Pace has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and in facilities management. He has a passion for quality and an aspiration for excellence in all that he does. His ultimate goal is exceeding client expectations and this is the customer focus attitude that he transmits through the employee training programmes he delivers as part of Caremalta learning and development programme.

Caremalta acknowledges that its efforts to maintain the required standards could fail if its employees do not share the belief in such an important value. For this reason the company places a lot of importance on the selection of new staff and their induction. The company provides regular training to all its employees, particularly to those who are directly involved in care. Caremalta facilities regularly obtain high results in audits conducted by external regulatory bodies in all the areas that the company operates in. For this reason Caremalta says it looks forward to new legislation in this sector which should ensure a more level playing field where quality care is provided across the board. From an internal audit perspective, all facilities boast the Certification of Excellence Awards awarded annually to the service areas which reach the expected standards.

Caremalta believes that the needs of the individual resident should be met irrespective of many factors. This is why the company insists on its management and staff that the service provided needs to be personalised and not influenced by any institutional requirements. Caremalta aspires to offer a home away from home to all its residents.

Its services cater for active older persons as well as older persons who require a dedicated and professional nursing team. Ancillary professions such as in-house physiotherapist, visiting occupational therapists, active ageing facilitators and dementia services and support manager together with all the nursing and caring team, make the holistic care perspective possible every day.

Caremalta looks forward to the further enhancement of its services in its quest to maintain and improve the quality of services it offers. The opening of its ninth home in the first quarter of next year, Casa San Paolo in Bugibba, will be another milestone in the company’s history. The services that will be offered at this new home have been based on the continuous feedback received by its clients. Like all its other facilities, the new home will be marked by quality: the value which is so much at heart at Caremalta.
