About 50 days ago a so-called farmer decided to dig a trench 10 inches wide and 10 inches deep across the street in Birżebbuġa Road, Safi to collect rainwater for his well. So now one has to endure bumps and shocks while driving through this road. This will result in a lot of damage to our vehicles. Besides, the trench is also dangerous to those who walk through this road early in the morning.

Although several people, including myself, have reported this vandal act to Safi mayor Francis Callus, as well as to Transport Malta, the ministry in charge of the local councils and the roads department, it was to no avail.

Recently I heard the Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, telling hunters and trappers that if they want to enjoy their hobby they must report all illegalities to the police. Can Muscat tell us to whom we shall address our complaints to get a satisfactory reply if we want to enjoy our roads?
