Go partially rebounded from yesterday’s 3.4 per cent plunge with a two per cent increase during this morning’s session to regain the €2.60 level across shallow volumes of a total of 1,820 shares dealt across five deals.

This recovery mainly led to the 0.2 per cent increase in the share index to 3,311.208 points.

The shares of International Hotel Investments also trended in positive territory as they gained 0.9 per cent and closed at the 54c5 level with a total of 12,000 shares changing hands across three deals.

Similarly, 91,620 shares were transacted across 16 deals in the equity of Bank of Valletta as its share price registered a marginal gain of 0.04 per cent to close at the €2.25,1 level.

Similarly, Plaza Centres erased yesterday’s loss in the share price, as it closed 3.3 per cent higher at the 62c level. This price was reached in a single deal of 20,000 shares.

HSBC Bank Malta was the only equity that closed in negative territory this morning, slipping 0.3 per cent to the €1.97 level. The intra-day high of the bank’s share price was €1.99,5, and a total of 2,361 shares were transacted across four deals.

Meanwhile, Simonds Farsons Cisk closed unchanged at the €3.01 level across shallow volumes of 1,596 shares.

A single trade of 4,500 shares in Malta International Airport did not alter the share price of the airport operator, which closed at the €2.33 level. Earlier this morning, MIA published the October traffic results, indicating a 2.9 per cent increase in passenger movements when compared to October last year. Overall, the year-to-date increase in passenger movements amounted to 6.7 per cent compared to its revised growth forecast for the whole of 2014 of 4.2 per cent.

On the bond market, the Rizzo Farrugia MGS Index slipped 0.1 per cent to 1,092.464 points, as benchmark Bund yields regained the 0.85 per cent level.

However, earlier on this afternoon, the European Commission announced a cut in growth forecasts, confirming the economic woes across the Eurozone, sending yields back to 0.81 per cent.
