Birdlife Malta’s adult activities group organised a day trip to Sicily for members and friends.

The trip included a visit to Scicli, a noted World Heritage town, followed by a woodland walk to the southern gorge at Cava d’Ispica.

After lunch at an agritourism farm, the group proceeded to the nature reserve of Vendicari, a site hosting wading birds of all sizes, including grey herons, mallards, gulls, cormorants and flamingos.

Forest ranger Ray Vella and Sivie Cauchi led the group.

Other planned activities include two walks in Qrendi and Dingli. The first will take place next Sunday, while the Dingli visit will be held on December 7.

Birdlife activities are also open to the public. Those interested should contact Birdlife Malta at birdlifeactivities@gmail.com.
