Football lovers Thurstan Spiteri, Miguel Axisa and Carmen Cuschieri, met their football idol, 30-year-old Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta at his hometown in Barcelona.

They were the winners of a competition run by The General Soft Drinks, local representatives of Powerade.

The winners joined 60 other participants from the UK, Ireland, Hungry, Greece, Spain, Poland and Austria. The prize was an all-inclusive package including accommodation, flights and a match ticket.

They also attended a match between Barcelona and Granada, had T-shirts signed, talked to Iniesta and got to juggle the ball with him.

Powerade is a brand of The Coca-Cola Company, one of the longest-standing corporate partners of FIFA, with a formal association since 1974 and an official sponsorship of FIFA World Cup that began in 1978.

Iniesta has been featuring on the Powerade passion fruit packaging since the last World Cup when a new flavour was introduced.
