A collective exhibition to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Malta’s accession to the EU is currently showing at the Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa.

Organised by the Foundation for National Festivities, /ru:t/ features the works of eight visual artists –Adrian Abela, Anna Grima, Charles Balzan, Elisa Von Brockdorff, Karen Caruana, Stephen Vella, Umberto Buttigieg and Victor Agius, whose work was shortlisted and selected following a call for proposals published in June. Some 22 artists responded to the call and a total of 35 works were put forth for this show.

The exhibition also brought with it the opportunity for one participating artist to be awarded €3,000 to be used to further artistic training. Balzan was announced as the winner during the launch last week.

The exhibition is being curated by Fabrizio Mifsud Soler and is coordinated by Arts Council Malta in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation.

/ru:t/ shows until November 14 at the Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa.
