Fernando Alonso has again left his fans playing a guessing game over his future.

Although it is widely understood Ferrari star Alonso has already finalised plans for 2015 and beyond, at present he is refusing to divulge.

The belief is Alonso has already agreed terms with McLaren and all that remains for him to return to the team he left under a cloud at the end of 2007 is his signature on the contract.

For now, Alonso continues to tease the media, delivering smiles at the end of the majority of their probing questions

Asked initially as to whether he knew what he would be doing in 2015, Alonso replied: “I know, yes. I more or less know.”

As to whether he will categorically be in F1, Alonso said: “I cannot say categorically anything now.

“There is a very ambitious plan in my head for my future and I think this is the best thing for Ferrari as well, and if that happens then people will be very, very excited... as I am.

“I am extremely happy all the things (that have happened) in the last two or three months have followed exactly the plan I had.”

It has not all been plain sailing for Alonso with regard to that plan, notably in light of friend Jules Bianchi’s life-threatening accident during the Japanese Grand Prix at the start of last month.

The 33-year-old Spaniard said: “There have been some difficult weeks with Jules’s accident and other things that happened which stopped me and made the situation become more emotional.

“With this Jules situation it is still a sad atmosphere for everyone. We just need to deal with everything.”

As to whether Alonso will be taking a year-long sabbatical, he again was vague as he claimed it to be “unlikely”, and if he did head down that route it would not be “too damaging”.
