President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca visited St John's Co-Cathedral's priceless 18th Century Flemish Tapestries at De Wit - Royal Manufacturers of Tapestry in Mechelen, Belgium, where they are being restored.

The tapestries were gifted to the church by the Aragonese Grand Master Ramon Perellos y Roccaful upon his election in 1697. They are the largest complete set in the world and consist of 29 pieces ordered from the Brussels atelier of Judocus de Vos.

The restoration project, being financed by the St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation, is supported by the Belgian government, the King Baudouin Foundation of Belgium and the Belgian Ministry of Defence.
