Mosta FC midfielder Ryan Grech was yesterday banned for three matches by the Malta Football Association Disciplinary Commissioner following a red card incurred in a weekend BOV Premier League match against Floriana.

Grech was sent off 19 minutes from time after a foul on Conor Borg in midfield leaving Mosta with a difficult task to contain their opponents who went on to complete a 3-2 comeback win.

It was the Blues’ fourth upset this season.

Grech will be unavailable for the matches against Hibernians, Tarxien Rainbows and Valletta.

Five other BOV Premier League players were handed one-match suspensions, yesterday.

They are Tarxien Rainbows goalkeeper Sean Cini, Mateo Picciollo (Floriana), Hugo Faria (Valletta), Elkin Serrano (Balzan) and David Alejandro Reano (Naxxar Lions).
