A call for expressions of interest in the setting up of a casino in Gozo attracted only one expression, but the subsequent request for proposals attracted no reply.

Dr Cardona said the evaluation process of five expressions of interest in opening new casinos in Malta had been concluded, and a request for proposals had reached an advanced stage.

However, the subject matter was sensitive and delicate and could not be rushed, he said.
