Malta is in 99th place out of 142 countries in the Global Gender Gap Report, issued last night by the World Economic Forum.

Malta is seen as having male-female equality in educational attainment and does well in health, but women suffer when compared to men in Malta with regard to political empowerment, economic participation and opportunity.

Malta’s ranking last year was 84 out of 136 countries.
