Zinnbauer had been appointed on an initial caretaker basis following the dismissal of Mirko Slomka just a month ago.

Xhaka: Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka has been ruled out for several weeks after sustaining an ankle ligament injury in their goalless draw against leaders Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old Swiss international turned his ankle in stoppage time on Sunday.

Milanese: Leyton Orient have announced that former QPR defender Mauro Milanese will take over as the club’s manager. In a bid to arrest their alarming slide, Milanese will make the switch from being the club’s sporting director to moving into the managerial hotseat.

Tevez: Argentina have picked Carlos Tevez in their squad for the first time in more than three years for friendlies next month against Croatia and Portugal. The striker, who last played for his country at the 2011 Copa America on home soil, missed this year’s World Cup in Brazil despite scintillating form for Juventus. Tevez was among four forwards picked by coach Gerardo Martino in his squad.
