As the number of cars on our roads continues to grow, may I suggest the transport authority offers incentives to drivers carrying two or more passengers by allowing them to use the bus lane and in this way somehow alleviate the traffic congestion, particularly during the rush hours.
It will also mitigate congestion on the other lanes.
This will encourage car sharing, a practice that is widespread in many European and American cities. A national campaign should be initiated by all concerned as car pooling does not only improve the traffic situation, save fuel costs and the need for parking spaces but is also environmentally friendly as it reduces carbon emissions.
Perhaps I am recommending nothing new, however, I think it should be tried again in the interest of all.
