Cannot the warden in Msida be more humane in the course of his duties and stop giving parking tickets near the government primary school in the early hours of the morning before residents leave their home for work?

The Msida local council is fully aware of the unavailability of sufficient parking in the highly residential areas of Victor Denaro, Tal-Qroqq, Zaccheus, School and University streets. Vehicles wrongly parked overnight in these areas, without creating any obstruction whatsoever, should not be booked. Common sense ought to prevail.

It is about time the playground of the government school opens its gates for parking after school hours to alleviate the problem. This has been the case in Gozo and, indeed, in Sliema for many years.

The local council would do well to have green wardens deployed in the same area to book residents who insist on leaving their garbage outside overnight or after the refuse collectors have been there rather than have their traffic wardens splashing parking tickets between 6 and 7.30am!
