Parishioners of Lija have noted with considerable disbelief that one of the last actions of Paul Cremona as Archbishop was the transfer, out of the village, of our popular and hardworking parish priest; an action carried out just three days before the Archbishop’s resignation.

Fr David Gauci, through his unceasing work and eloquent homilies, transformed the services at the local parish church into ‘standing room only’ events; a rare occurrence in most Maltese churches.

No one in Lija will ever understand the illogical removal of a remarkably successful parish priest.
