I remember my first visit to the Eden cinemas, the film was Jurassic Park and we were awed by the atmosphere, comfortable seats, vision and sound, especially when compared with Valletta’s previous ‘talkies’, which ended in a sorry state.

However, recently I was at Eden cinema screen 1 and was taken aback by the stench. I couldn’t breathe properly. It smelled like something humid, which made me suspect that seats were cleaned by some sort of steaming and left to dry.

Also, a couple of flies persistently flew in the projector’s light. Let us not take people for granted, especially when we are paying good money for the film, parking and snacks.

Eden cinemas should not rest on its laurels as today there are other cheaper, less smelly, good quality options. I trust that action will be taken to keep all Eden cinemas up to standard and not only the elite cinema screen 16.
