A few days ago, two vehicles collided head-on near Lija cemetery, obviously causing extensive damage to both. The place has been in complete darkness for months on end, and still is, even though roadworks are taking place on one lane and the other lane is open to traffic driven in both directions.

Those who drive through this road, especially during peak hours, encounter difficulties almost all the year round, let alone when roadworks are being done.

Why is it that work on such busy roads is not done during different shifts round the clock?
