A vocational fund to support Gozitan youths’ career aspirations has been set up by Rotary Club Gozo.

Rotary president Guy Kurkjian said: “Young people all need finance to progress in their studies towards a career: for materials, tools, books, private tuition or to study abroad.

“Sometimes the most talented individuals come from the poorest of backgrounds and they, in particular, need assistance.” He added that all Gozitan students would be judged on their merits.

The Ministry of Gozo and the Gozo Business Chamber are backing the initiative, which is intended to be a long-term project.

The career needs of youths in Gozo was discussed at the 2014 Rotary conference held on the theme ‘Learning’.
