Former mayor of London Ken Livingstone (pictured) is the one of the main guest speakers at The Economist’s World in 2015 black-tie gala dinner to be held at the Hilton Malta on November 28.

Mr Livingstone was mayor of London from 2000 to 2008. During this time he helped win the 2012 Olympics for London, introduced the controversial congestion charge scheme to address climate change and logistics concerns and steered London through the horror of the July 2005 bombings.

Mr Livingstone, who the BBC describes as “an outspoken anti-establishment figure… never afraid of controversy”, has written several books, in addition to presenting a weekly radio show.

At the dinner, he will talk about the lessons learned during his mayorship. He will be joined by speakers John Andrews, consultant editor to The Economist, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Kevin Kallaugher, The Economist’s editorial cartoonist for over 30 years.
