It is with some dismay that I hear that the shooting of migrating birds is still happening in the lovely island of Malta.

I understand that during World War II this became a necessity as the population was starving.

Now the whole world is doing its best with conservation and we here are already finding that fewer birds reach our shores.

Perhaps clay pigeon shooting could be started or rifle ranges for those enthusiasts.
