Walcott: Theo Walcott, who has been out with a knee injury since January, should make his comeback to the Arsenal squad next week against Burnley but is not ready for today’s match against Sunderland, manager Arsene Wenger said. “He has to get used to physical contact again. He has been out for nine months. It was a big injury,” he said.

Reveillere: Full-back Anthony Reveillere will be included in the Sunderland squad for the visit of Arsenal today provided the club receives his international clearance. The 34-year-old, a free agent after leaving Napoli in the summer, signed a short-term contract until the end of the season on Thursday.

Boca through: Boca Juniors joined their great rivals River Plate in the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana after finally dispatching the 10 men of Paraguayan side Capiata on penalties on Thursday. Boca edged out Capiata 1-0 in the second leg in Paraguay, levelling the tie at 1-1 following last week’s shock home defeat, and sending it to penalties where they eventually prevailed 4-3. Boca will now face another Paraguayan side in Cerro Porteno. River Plate play Estudiantes.

Pires: The Indian Super League (ISL) said it is looking into allegation that former France midfielder Robert Pires was punched in the face by an opposition coach during a half-time altercation in Thursday’s match in Goa. Zico, the coach of FC Goa, said Pires told him about being hit by Atletico de Kolkata coach Antonio Lopez in the tunnel during the half-time break.

Neymar: Neymar has declared support for the centrist candidate in Brazil’s presidential election, hours after manager Dunga warned players against making political and religious statements. The Barcelona striker said he would support Aecio Neves in tomorrow’s run-off ballot against incumbent Dilma Rousseff.

The Championship: Fulham vs Charlton 3-0.

Scottish Premier: Aberdeen vs Motherwell 1-0.
