Thousands of Israelis and tourists raved late yesterday in a 12-hour party taking place from sunset to sunrise in the Dead Sea, experiencing a multimedia soiree at the lowest point on earth.

The production website listed a line-up of international electronic music "superstars", such as Dash Berlin and W&W, reinforced by local Israeli DJs.

On a huge stage, fully equipped with advanced audio-video devices, the artists kept the crowd dancing incessantly, against the breathtaking desert backdrop of Masada mountain and the Dead sea shores.

The rave, labelled "Dead Sea Rave -424" as the location is 424 meters below sea level, was produced for the second year by the Dead Sea local council with the support of various sponsors, according to its website.
