The third round of matches from the 2014-15 MHA Cup saw Kavallieri edge out Aloysians Von Taine 22-21 in a thrilling encounter at Tal-Qroqq.

Both teams produced fast-paced and flowing play with Aloysians showing their best in the opening stages and Kavallieri leaving their mark as the game progressed.

In another match, La Salle Rivareno secured their third win after beating Luxol 29-23.

La Salle took matters in hand and controlled the match with a solid display.

SayItMalta HMS were beaten 23-17 by Swieqi Phoenix who chalked up their first win in the competition.

HMS failed to impress as their rearguard struggled to cope with Swieqi’s attacks.

La Salle are sharing top spot in the standings with Kavallieri on nine points as Swieqi moved off the bottom while SayItMalta HMS and Luxol are still without points.

Aloysians, on six points, play holders La Salle on match-day four tomorrow looking to put their upset to Kavallieri behind them.

Kavallieri start as favourites to maintain their unbeaten run as they take on Bryan Pace’s HMS who need to lift their game by several notches after a rather erratic start to the season.
