I wonder whether I might use these columns to ask Melita to sort out the problems I am having with their TV package.

In August, I signed up for their TV and broadband and everything was installed and worked perfectly. I then decided to upgrade to HD and, once again, everything was installed almost immediately.

The trouble is, although the broadband is fine, the TV doesn’t work. The installer couldn’t get it to work either but explained that the problem was a software issue which would be solved remotely from Melita’s end.

I have been back to the UK since but have now been here for 10 days during which time I have made three phone calls to Melita, enduring the usual 20-minute wait, only to be told that the problem lies at their end and that it would be resolved by tomorrow at the latest.

Tomorrow never comes!
